Hiddink Targetting The Treble
April 22nd, 2009 by admin
Hiddink’s main focus when he took over at chelsea was simply qualification for next season’s Champions League but with Chelsea’s current form Hiddink has been forced to rethink his aims.
Chelsea are in final of the FA Cup, the semi-finals of the Champions League and still in the Premier League title race, so as you can imagine he is ruling nothing out.
“Mathematically, the treble is possible. In February, we had to make sure we qualified for next year’s Champions League but you can’t just be satisfied with that,” the Daily Express quoted Hiddink, as saying.Everybody has done what is expected of them, so you push your targets higher and we are doing that. If you had told us in February we would be playing the FA Cup final, people would have raised their eyebrows. But, for the moment, the most important game is tonight,” he added.
Chelsea are in great form and have won 10 of Hididnk’s 13 games in charge with Hiddink claiming his team are relishing the challenge of trying to catch Manchester United and Liverpool.
