Fabio Capello may well have upset his countrymen by claiming that the Premier League is far superior to Serie A. In what could be classes as a dammin attack on the Serie A, Capello slammed the Italian game for having worse stadiums, weaker security, less sportsmanship and lower attendances than in the English top league.
Capello remarks came in the same week where Italian hooligans fought with the police in Undine and invaded Lazio’s training ground.
“The English Premier League has overtaken Serie A. In England you feel a lot safer at a stadium,” The Sun quoted Capello, as saying.
“Children and families go to games in England and that’s beautiful. In Italy things are not going like they should.
“Grounds in England are far better and the security is very good. There is a more sporting atmosphere and the game is followed very passionately – the grounds are always full. In Italy the game is in the hands of the Ultras,” he added.

It seems the bitter disagreements with Milan-based Internazionale over a severe lack of transfer funds have made Mourinho to decide to return to England. Rumours suggest that Jose Mourinho is set buy himself out of Milan although it will cost him a massive 5.5million pounds.
“The club and I signed a very objective contract until 2012, because we want to work together. But there is a cancellation clause that Inter will pay me if they want my departure and another that I will pay Inter if I want to leave,” News of the World quoted Mourinho, as saying.

It has been reported that England footballer John Terry reportedly paid his alleged lover Vanessa Perroncel £400,000 to remain slient about their affair. Terry failed last week with a High Court “super-injunction” to stop publication of details of his alleged affair with former partner of Wayne Bridge, his England team-mate.
The pay off could though not save him being disposed as the England capatin.
“After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from John Terry. As a captain with the team, John Terry has displayed extremely positive behaviour,” The Times quoted coach Fabio Capello as saying.
“However, I have to take into account other considerations and what is best for all of the England squad. What is best for all of the England team has inspired my choice. John Terry was notified first,” he added.

It looks like Terry will lose the captain’s arm band in the next few days so who do fans think should be the new England Captain? Well a recent poll cast by lifestyle magazine Asylum, over 7,072 of the 22,000 voters supported Rooney as captain while 6,745 supported Terry. Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard came third with 5,094 votes.
“It’s interesting that Asylum readers have picked Rooney considering he returned home from the last World Cup under such a cloud. Obviously, the great British public are happy to give second chances, something that could work in Terry’s favour,” The Mirror quoted Asylum editor Michael Rundle as saying.

Beckham who is due to play against United for AC Milan in a couple of weeks has said that he still misses United.
“When I was at Real Madrid it just never felt right to come back to Old Trafford,” Beckham said.
He added: “The thought of playing United always gives me that sick feeling because I missed the club so much.”
Beckham suffered emotionally when he left United after 12 glorious years.
“The first few years away were hard and there were a lot of things I missed. It was the club I always wanted to play for and I loved every minute of my time there,” the Daily Express quoted him, as saying.
“I always wish I was part of Manchester United, it’s just in me. Even though I’m not there any more, I’m still a huge fan and watch every game where possible. I always want them to do well and be successful because the club still means so much to me,” he said.
“When the draw was made it just felt it was the right time to go back. There isn’t one player I’m particularly looking forward to facing. I’m just looking forward to being a part of it all and savouring the atmosphere in both games.
“Returning to Old Trafford is going to be special and a very emotional night. I’ve spoken to Gary Neville since the draw and we both believe it’s going to be a great tie,” Beckham said.

John Terry looks set to lose the captains arm band after his affair with team-mate Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend was exposed. In a recent poll of 2,000 supporters, 87 per cent called for Terry to be axed as captain.
Capello is fuming that if he includes both players in his squad, and Bridge agrees to don the England shirt, he faces a headache over whether they can be on the pitch at the same time.”Fabio is spitting mad. He doesn’t want anything to derail the team’s preparation in the run up to the tournament in South Africa. His view is that footballers should be seen and not heard,” The Sun quoted a FA source, as saying.
“John’s personal life is taking the focus away from what’s really important – England winning the World Cup,” the source said.
