Capello Tells England Players To Set Standards

August 16th, 2009 by admin

Capello wants his England players to set standards for children. He Believes that his players, and all professional players, have a duty to set standards for the millions of youngsters who idolise them.

“The young boys have to respect the referees. But the example comes from the very top of the game. Always. Look, if they see players with their shirt in, they will have their shirt in,” The News of the World quoted Capello, as saying.

“Players with their shirt out, they will have their shirt out as well. And it is the same with respecting the referees,” he added.

The 63-year-old becomes as animated, as excited, as frustrated as any top manager. However, he always refrains from denigrating referees.
